Grape Variety: The Furmint grape variety has always had its place in Rust and is represented in Austria on only about 20 hectares, 12 of which are in Rust.

The long tradition of planting Furmint began with the Ruster Ausbruch. Furmint gives this wine the necessary acidity and produces sweet wines that can compete with the best in the world.

Today, Furmint also shows great potential in dry wine production. It impresses with its pronounced acidity, elegant minerality, and the ability to reflect its terroir precisely. In Rust, it produces characterful wines with aromas of quince, pear, and citrus, often accompanied by nutty and spicy notes.

The Furmint 2024 is an especially powerful wine. The grapes were carefully hand-harvested in mid-September at a high level of ripeness.

Tasting Notes: Intense golden yellow, with aromas of quince and exotic fruits. Full-bodied with a complex structure, spicy, almost salty, and a powerful finish. Excellent aging potential.

Pairs Well With: Pan-fried turbot or sole with lemon butter, pumpkin risotto with sage and Parmesan, roast pig with crispy skin, veal loin with braised quinces, or goat cheese terrine with quince jelly.
