Gelber Muskateller – a firework of flavors
Variety: The Gelber Muskateller probably originates from the Near East and is one of the oldest cultivated grape varieties in the world – next to the Traminer. Of all grape varieties it tastes most grapey. The Gelber Muskateller wines are fruity, fresh wines with the typical Muscat scent.
Tasting: Clear pale yellow in the glass; compared to the 2024 vintage, this version is noticeably lighter. On the nose, the wine is particularly fresh, strongly reminiscent of grapes straight from the vine—very aromatic and marked by juicy Muscat fruit. On the palate, it shows a fine structure, is fresh and distinctly grapey. An ideal summer wine with a lively, fruity finish.
Pairs well with: Kärtner Kasnudeln (dumplings), potato strudel, egg tagliatelle with herb pesto, poached poularde with cardamom rice, asparagus dishes, sheep cheese strudel with tomato chutney
