Gelber Muskateller Ruster Ausbruch DAC 2024

40,00

Variety : Gelber Muskateller
The Gelber Muskateller has always held a firm place in Rust. Historically, it was preferentially cultivated here—both as an excellent blending partner and as a single-varietal wine for the famous Ruster Ausbruch. Its aromatic notes are particularly impressive due to the high viscosity, which only reaches its full potential with age.

Tasting Notes: Medium yellow-gold with silver reflections. Inviting hints of yellow tropical fruits, delicately suggesting pineapple and passion fruit, with a touch of nutmeg, mandarin zest, and blossom honey. Light-footed, medium complexity, white peach, fine sweetness, relatively gentle acidity, already approachable. (Falstaff Sweet Wine Trophy)

Pairs Well With: Blue cheeses, chocolate desserts, nut pudding with dried plums, foie gras.

  • Botrytis Cineria

The fungus perforates the grapes with its enzymes. As a result, moisture escapes the grapes during dry weather and evaporates. Thus, the concentration of the ingredients in the juice of the grapes rises and the juice is strongly reduced.

    Fog above the vineyards

In October, when fog is sweeping over the vineyards after cold nights and the autumn sun creates a certain microclimate, the noble rot starts to develop. This process only takes place here at the lake. These are the perfect conditions for a successful vintage of Ruster Ausbruch.
