Our signature wine. This special Pinot Noir was harvested as an “Auslese” and vinify dry. Then three years of aging in new french oak barriques.

The Pinot “Ritter” is a real charmer, noble and powerful in taste – a knightly wine without fear and blame. The high alcohol and extract values ​​promise a long life. Let this knight caress you gallantly.

Tasting: deep ruby red, dense nose, typical burgundy aromatic with multifaced nuances, dark beeries, fine wood and spice unite on the palate in a velvety and full-bodied finish. To young to drink but irresistible.

Best served with: garlic lamb chop, roast veal in milk with pasta, larded roast venison, venison medallions, wild boar goulash with chanterelle, Burgundy roast, stewed lamb leg.

  • Vinyard Umriss

    The highest elevation of the Grossriede “Umriss” is planted with our Burgundies. The limestone and shell limestone soils create perfect conditions for great,  wines.

  • Aging potential

    strong Pinots have always had their place with us. Wonderful for long storage and bottle aging, which only show their full potential over the decades.

  • Pinot Gris white but different

    Orange Pinot Gris Ried Kreften was fermentated on the mash (whole berries). Due to the contact with the grape skin, the wines get a more intense color and more tannin.

  • Harvest 2018

    Only every few years is it possible to vinify a Pinot Noir with this high degree of maturity and full ripen, healthy grape material.
